Marseille offered Lee
Marseille have claimed that they have been offered reported Manchester United target Lee Young-pyo.
The talented Korean has also been linked with Monaco and Tottenham, but now Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has confirmed that the player was offered in exchange for Taye Taiwo.
Diouf is desperate to keep the talented Nigerian starlet at the Stade Velodrome and has ruled out any player exchange with his Dutch counterparts.
''If Mister Hiddink, who is not a beginner, wants to get Taiwo and give me Lee, that means there is probably a trick in it,'' said Diouf.
''Only the fact he proposed it, that made me reply no.
''Today it is better to try to keep our little Taiwo, hoping he will become very great.''
Diouf continued to reveal that Marseille are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper - with Benfica's Yannick Quesnel, Bertrand Laquait and Rudy Riou the latest names in the frame.
''Barthez will only come back in October and it is our duty to hire another experienced keeper,'' he concluded.
Marseille are also hopeful that Fifa will allow new signing Franck Ribery to play in the club's forthcoming InterToto Cup game, after a much protracted dispute with his former employers Galatasaray.
