Le cas de cette petite fille était réel, mais ce message est obsolète car Noélie a déjà bénéficié d'une greffe de sang placentaire le 8 décembre 2003. Hélas cela n'aura pas permis de guérir la jeune malade qui est décédée le 1er juin 2004. L'Etablissement Français des Greffes n'encourage pas à faire suivre ce genre de messages, statistiquement inefficaces, parfois erronés mais toujours fortement perturbateurs pour les services cités en référence à cause du grand nombre d'appels téléphoniques générés, mais il invite toute personne qui souhaiterait s'inscrire sur le Registre des donneurs volontaires français à s'informer en consultant la fiche "Le don de moelle osseuse", puis à télécharger un document d'information accompagné d'un formulaire d'inscription. Concernant Noélie, ses parents ont mis en ligne un site Internet pour informer les internautes sur la leucémie, les besoins français en matière de greffe et la procédure pour devenir donneur. Au fil de la propagation du message, le prénom de la petite fille est parfois devenu Noémie, mais il s'agit bien de la même personne.
